Agenda:
While new to the US market, Engineers have applied Medium Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear(GIS) around the world for years. The installed base is in the thousands of sections. With higher ratings, smaller footprints, faster operating times, and increased safety, GIS is truly game changing equipment. Come to the September IEEE/ IAS meeting and see the future of medium voltage distribution switchgear.
5:30 pm (Arrival/relax time) 6:00 pm (Presentation) 7:00 pm (Dinner) Student Members: $10 (at the door) discounted cost for first 5 reserved IEEE Student Members.

Biography:
Phillip (Phil) Riemer is a medium voltage Offer Marketing Specialist at Schneider Electric North America, and is currently the U.S.Product Manager for Schneider Electric's medium voltage gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). Based in Nashville, TN, a hub for Schneider Electric's Medium Voltage offers, Phil has had extensive experience in metal-clad and metal-enclosed switchgear, and arc flash mitigation techniques. Phil is dedicated to educating clients on the inherent safety, reliability, and commercial benefits of metal-enclosed GIS. In addition to GIS, and Arc Flash Mitigation, Phil has expertise in seismic qualification and testing of non-structural equipment, and is an Engineering Advisor on projects across the U.S.

2015-2016 Year of SF IAS
Image
Let's make this year better than ever and really get involved. What we are looking forward to this year:

-Linkedin Conversations
Our Linkedin group is a great forum to start a general conversation to speak about Title 24, job openings, general electrical discussions.

-Field Trips
We are always looking for great opportunities for our group to go out on a field trip. We have previously gone to Anchor Steam Brewery and Levi Stadium. Please send any suggestion you may have.
