Latest Trends in UPS Technology
Speaker: Harry Handlin
This subject will cover UPS History, Current UPS Designs, Market
Drivers, Technology Trends, Application Trends and Possible Future
Developments. The presentation on the Latest Trends in UPS
Technology will review traditional UPS topologies and include
comparisons between various designs commonly applied in data
centers. UPS topics currently debated within the data center
industry, including distributed bypass, transformer versus
transformer-less UPS, efficiency, UPS grounding, and modular UPS
construction will be discussed during the session.

Measurement, Safety, and Protection
The SF Power and Energy Society Chapter, the SFSU
Chapter, and the SF Industry Applications Society Chapter are
hosting a measurement, safety, and protection workshop for power engineering
students, consulting specifying engineers, electrical utilities,
and electrical vendors on Friday, May 29, 2015 in San Francisco
State University. Presentations from primarily SEL and Beck with
Electric speakers will address critical issues faced by electrical
engineers in their workplace such as micro-synchrophasors, arc
flash mitigation, motor protection, transformer protection, and
generator protection.
